I'm having a couple problems with my 7.62 carbine.

First, the firing pin doesn't dent the primer deep enough and I get a misfire 1 in 10 rounds or so. Click. Usually I can reset the bolt and it'll go off the second time. I installed a stiffer Wolff spring which helped some, but not enough.

Also it seems the mag springs aren't forceful enough to push rounds up to the top, and it won't feed right. The mags are barely used...

What ammo are you using? MY CZ carbine has no problem with russian ammo but if I use CCI primers I'll get what you describe about 20% of the time

Wolf Military Classic FMJ. Oddly the JHP version doesn't have as much an issue. My SKS and friend's AK eat the stuff like candy.:banghead:

Sounds like a classic case of hard primeritis.

Its not uncommon for civilian sporting arms to have occasional trouble with the hard primers used on milspec ammunition.

Hey Grim, it helped a little. I think what's going on though is the firing pin isn't protruding enough. My Mosin has an adjustment for that, wish this one did too. The Wolff spring you gave me is plenty strong, it's just the back of the bolt is hitting the stop too early.

Otherwise I really enjoyed it today. I was hitting 4" targets at an indicated 75 yards off a table, so the sights are dead on.

If it still does it monday at the range I may just gently file down a bit of metal off the stop where it hits the receiver. I was hoping someone would chime in with a better solution though...

Well, fiddlesticks. If it's any consolation it's not specific to your rifle. I only contacted CZ about it after I heard a couple of other people mention they were getting light strikes. They did say that the new spring fixed the up, though.

I had the same problem on a 527 American in .223. I contacted Mike Eagleshield at CZ-USA, and he sent me a heaver spring. That cured the problem. :)

I have the heavier spring.

uhoh, call Mike Eagleshield at CZ-USA. (1 800 955-4486)

He has the people skills of a brick, but is incredibly knowledgeable about all CZ's. :) It would be interesting to hear his opinion.

Please post the results.
