CZ P 07 Duty, is it worth it?

P-07 Duty:
Grip is smaller than average, but still very ergonomic.

High(er) capacity (than what politicians deem appropriate )

Sight picture of box and dot similar to Glock, but are made of plastic and a little smaller.

Decock or condition 1 carry option and can be chosen by the user.

Smooth trigger for an OTB pistol.

Not many specific holsters made for it yet.

It's an okay buy, but if I were to do it again I would stick with the original 75 design and go for the p-06 if it's to be a carry gun. I didn't have eny feed issues with mine for the 200 rounds or so I had through it before I sold it to my dad and he likes it.

There are other, non plastic CZ guns I would much prefer, but it doesn't seem to be a bad gun. If you like that sort of gun.

I looked at the CZ forum when they first came out - apparently, there was some deformation issues around the dustcover in the very beginning. But, I believe that has since been fixed. I just wouldn't buy a used one,a s you may get an older one. But, they do look interesting and feel pretty good in the hand

Great egronimics, balance and feel. After a few boxes through both of mine, zero mechanical problems. Both very accurate.

Complaints include:
Cheap sights. The painted on white peeled off - easily fixable but annoying.
The safety feels flimsy and I would NOT trust it for cocked and lock carry. I prefer the decocker.

Overall, a very good choice for an economical pistol.

I admit, I've never shot one, nor do I know much about them, but I have owned CZ's for over twelve years and would go with a proven design like the PCR or P-01 if I wanted lighter weight than the 75B.

Yep, me too.

I like mine - very ergonomic and a better trigger than the standard 75B. I've had no problems with mine and I like the decocker option versus the safety - your choice. It shoots well, very accurate and low recoil. I like CZs, so it's a welcome member of the stable. A good polymer gun IMO.

I'm curious. For those of you who like polymer guns, has anyone ever had the chance to shoot a Steyr M9?

I had a chance to shoot one head to head with a Glock, and was favorably impressed. But I haven't shot a polymer CZ yet.

I'm not a plastic gun kind of guy. However, I used to have a P-07 Duty. It's a bit top heavy but I still liked it when I was just holding it at the gun shop. I bought it and took it to the range. That's when I discovered that I didn't really care for the gun. I really like the look of the -07, but I'll just stick to metal guns.

Would love to try one - really like my sp-01 phantom. Double action is a little harsh but the SA is great. Very accurate for me.

CZguy,

I own and shoot a Steyr M9. I bought it when CDNN was getting rid of them about four or so years ago. I am not a big polymer fan, but its a good gun. Accurate and reliable with good ergos and low bore axis. Still rather shoot my CZ's, BHP or P7's though.

I wanted the more compact S9, but they were out of them by the time I got off my *ss and ordered one.

You're way ahead of me. Now that I want one they are priced around $550.00. They're worth that, but I wish I would have know how well they shot, while CDNN was giving them away for $350.00

Oh well, at least I bought several CZs while the dollar was strong.

I bought my 75B with one neutered mag and one hi cap for $318 in 1999, and my PCR for a little more in 2000. Those were the days.
