cz po1 question

I just had my cz for three days and ive gone through 350 rounds and its awesome.. but my question is..when i take the mag out and i try to lock it .. it doesnt lock.. i slowly put the mag in and i notice that when it goes all the way in it pushes that one thing you press to make the slide go back into place..it pushes it up so when the mag is in and i push the slide back it locks.. is this normal? shouldnt it lock all the time? im such a noob sorry guys but can someone help?so when the mag is out it doesnt lock.....

That's how nearly all handguns work. Perfectly normal.

If you'd like to lock the slide back with the mag out, just push up on the slide lock with the slide all the way back.

Thanks Mulliga!!! i was just nervous that is was messed up or something... slide lock its what its called huh.. im learning and soaking up all the information like a sponge.. i was worried my baby was hurt thanks again Mulliga!

Negative ghostrider. On virtually every semi auto I can think of, when you take the magazine out, the slide will not lock back. In order to have the slide lock without a magazine inserted you must physically push up on the slide release/lock. If you insert a mag, the slide will lock as you found. This is just simply how the pistols function.

Now for a more important question, how does that thing shoot?

The slide on a P-01 will not lock back without a mag in place. It WILL lock after the last round is fired.

Quick clarification for the noob - slide will lock back on almost all handguns on an EMPTY magazine.
Did you get a manual? Operation should be laid out there. If not, go to http://www.cz-usa.com/ for one.
