CZ Rami - anyone?

Where's armoredman? I know he has an opinion on the RAMI; or more correctly Mrs. armoredman, she loves hers.
Did someone call my name? I'm like the Bye Bye Man...say my name...:D
The RAMi is plenty chunky, absolutely, it is, but it's not fat FEELING, if you get what I mean. I am not a RAMI fan, as it is not a straight CZ-75 action. It's a drastically chapped and channeled version of the CZ 40B, which is a version of the Colt Z-40, the incredibly short lived pistol created to make a 1911 feeling CZ pistol for the American market many moons ago. This odd heritage doesn't make it less of a gun, in fact it has many die hard adherents, including my wife, who is very fond of her RAMIs.

I tried the BD at 100 yards once for a lark at a 3/4 steel IDPA target, and hit it once out of three rounds...fluke, I'm thinking. I can't shoot them with the standard mag installed. Have to have either the extended 14 round mags like pictured above...or more... ;)

They have been eCZellent performers, but due to the Mrs not getting out much they are shot very little, and I can't give an honest wear assessment.

I do (9mm, alloy frame). It's one of my favorite CCWs.

What I like:

1) For a compact 9mm it has a wide-feeling frame, but the grip is short from fore-to-aft, making it a solid choice for my small man hands
2) With the 10 round mag in a good IWB, it's very concealable. With the 14 round mags (+ included grip extension) it makes for an excellent hand purchase and control. It will take 16 round CZ mags as well.
3) The weight is light enough to conceal, but heavy enough to control. Good balance in my opinion.
4) It's run flawlessly excepting when the recoil guide rod assembly failed (lots of wear).
5) With wood grips it's sexy as &*(&
6) Excellent single action trigger. Excellent single & double with a trigger job.
7) Very accurate. I surprise people regularly with this little gem.

What I don't like:

1) It's hard to find aftermarket stuff (wood grips came from Europe, leather IWB was custom made). But there's more stuff out now, especially with the popularity of kydex.
2) In my opinion the recoil guide rod assembly is a weak point, but that's not uncommon for compact guns like this with this style of assembly. Replace it every so often.
3) The stock DA trigger is really heavy, and the DA trigger reach is just a hair long for my short fingers.
4) The mags can rattle a bit fully loaded. It's a CZ thing. Kind of annoying but never caused any functional problems.
