CZ shotguns

Looking at a CZ Bobwhite myself. Something I can use for some informal skeet shooting with friends once a week. I've always shot SxS, they just feel right to me.
SxS has always felt right to me as well. I just picked up a Bobwhite 20ga a few weeks ago at a local shop. Have only put a few shells through busting a few clays in the back yard so far, But I love how it swings and feels. It seems very well made to me, and comes in a case with 5 chokes and a choke wrench. Triggers are a little heavy (right at 8lbs) but usable. It's light and balances well, and points very naturally for me.
Hope to put it through its paces with some clays soon so I can get a good feel for it before Dove season in September.
I need to get some better pics of it

My wife bought me an Armsco version of the Golden Pheasant 20ga SXS in 2004 as a 25th anniversary present.
After about a year, it started doubling. No one locally (Browning authorized repair center) could fix it. Off to Armsco it went.
9mos later, and several trips to shop to inquire about it, I finally got my shotgun back.
Only, it wasn’t mine!
CZ had taken over importation of the Huglu guns. They sent me a BRAND NEW gun, including 5 more choke tubes, and my fitted Pachmayer Old English recoil pad...

The new gun has been flawless. Only thing is it doesn’t shoot slugs to convergent poi/POA at 40yds like the previous one.

I’m satisfied! I’ve killed several deer and pigs with it with both slugs and handloaded buckshot.
Only thing is, it’s too elegant to wear camo with it!

Maybe this will help.

I had my first opportunity to try out my new Hammer Classic this past weekend. I love it. I was worried about the metal butt plate, and knowing how my other 12 gauge SxS feels even with a good recoil pad, I put a slip-on (well mine laces on) recoil pad on the CZ. It adds about 3/4 inch to the length of pull, but that made it just about right for me. The stock of my gun has a good bit more cast than my other double, and made it come to my eye much better when I mount the gun. I have been used to shooting with modified right and full left chokes; I installed the cylinder right and IC left chokes in the CZ and headed to our club's skeet range. I was solo on this excursion, and we have a voice-activated trap trigger. I started out shooting from station 4. I have the hardest time there due to the increased lead you have to apply; the extra cast, and the more open chokes had me hitting immediately, as I don't mount until the bird releases, instead of tracking it from the house. I even tried a few doubles from there, actually hit two with one shot at the center pole (dumb luck). After shooting a box of shells from various positions, I shot a solo round and hit 21, which is a darn good score for me, I usually hit around 18-19. I like how the gun handles; it was a bit stiff when breaking it, but, hey, it's new. I had to get in a rhythm of loading, closing and cocking the external hammers, but it felt natural after 10-15 loads. The CZ has hammer blocks in the trigger mechanism; the triggers have to be held pulled for the hammers to contact the firing pins; if you happened to slip while cocking the gun, it won't allow the hammer to strike the pin. My triggers were smooth, not noticeably heavy, and release on each was equal.

So, 50 rounds and I'm ready for another 50K. The lace-on recoil pad was really nice, better than the one I have on the other gun.
