CZ Stocks

There's a new and old? The only thing I can think of you might be talking about is the standard model which they've had for years, and the "American" style stocks which they introduced a year or two ago. The pictures on the CZ-USA website sum it up, but essentially their original style stocks are a hogback style, or they turn/tilt own at the butt. It's for better target acquisition with open sights. However, since the straight stock is much more popular in the states and everyone is using scopes anyway, they introduced the "American" version.

I heard something about cz changing the checkering and something about stock thickness or shape on the 550 american. It is on the american model and not the lux version.

Supposelly, they slimmed the American stock down a little this year, and changed the checkering pattern to something similar to Tikka. I thought the "older" style was a little thick, but it fit well.

According to the local dealer all of the stocks for the 550 big bores are also getting cross bolts. The .416 I handled had them. It was the American stocked version too.
