CZ vs. Beretta info I found at gunweek

Nice little review and amazingly unbiased (hard to do.) One interesting note comes from the 25 yard accuracy testing. The CZ is often taughted as being one of the most accurate handguns, but it's groups were 25% bigger than the Beretta's...though still quite respectable.
 
Actually, I had a old guns and ammo from 1993 that covered all the popular 9mms at the time, and the Beretta was most accurate then also. From a rest at 25 yards. I simply think the CZ is easy to shoot, so off hand it seems so good.

The Beretta is the more practical choice for general issue and proven to be extraordinarily reliable.

I do understand the failure drills with the smaller ejection port, or I would if any of the ones I've had/do have had ever had an ejection problem. :p

Actuallya nice article, well done. He did admit everyone there was well versed in Beretta, and not nearly so well in CZ.

More like 10%. It's also pretty much meaningless to take one example each of a mass produced item, compare them, and then make assertions regarding all.
 
I've shot both...

The early service Beretta's I saw were utterly reliable, and VERY accurate. I qualified a couple of years ago, and I picked one up that just didn't hit well. Tried another M9 and I was dead on - strange. All my CZ's and everyone I've shot have been very accurate. Maybe I picked up one bad M9 the other year. The goofy safety deal on the Beretta is not that ergonomic and a pain to me - otherwise, it is a great gun. I also don't think the longevity of the locking mechanism is nearly as good as the CZ.

I would almost agree. However, I've had conversations with people about that, and they bring up that it is the part that takes all the wear, and is easily replaceable. It's actually an interesting engineering concept that does have merit. You basically have a sacrificial part that you can replace for little money/work.

They probably last about as long as the slide stops do on the CZs.
 
That was an entertaining read. However, just a few problems......

1) It's a magazine article.

2) His example of a Beretta was slightly more accurate than his example of a CZ in his hands.

3) The article is dated, try a new SA or SP-01.

4) Sounds like he was more familiar with and probably favored the Beretta.

5) I take things written in gun rags with more salt than some of what I read online.

6) My buddy's 92 is not as accurate as any of my CZs, except when I shoot it, though the CZs shoot accurate in his hands as well, what conclusion is to be drawn from that?

7) This has not been my experience and that's what I base my opinions on.
