I'm thinking about getting one of these later this summer.

Does anyone have any comments regarding them?

I'm not a big fan of real double action semi-autos (I prefer Glocks.), but I like the ability to carry the CZ75 cocked and locked.

Thanks.

I had one of these and really, really liked it but had to sell when I took a financial nosedive last year. I only got to fire less than 100 rounds through it but had no malfunctions.

Well, that's a good thing if you intend to buy a CZ-75. One of its inherent weaknesses IMHO is that you have to manually lower the hammer onto a loaded chamber if you intend to use it in DA mode. Call me funny, but that is one feature I do not like!

I've been shooting M1911s and Highpowers since the '70s, so it's not an issue for me.

There are versions of the gun with hammerdrops.

I have three. I really like 'em, especially in satin nickel.

Mine have been 100% reliable for many thousands of rounds. I am really pleased with their performance and reliability. I vastly prefer the cocked-n-locked option over a decocker.

Initially I had FTE's and FTF's in mine...

But after I fluffed, buffed, replaced the extractor spring, and CZ sent me a new 40 cal slide stop (they had put a 9mm one one - they are diffferent), it seems to be flawless. It is my TIGHTEST fitting CZ - both the slide to frame, and the barrel to slide. IN fact the barrel to slide fit has no play. Another guy on the CZ forum says the same - MIGHT be a trend. Also, the DA pull is the slickest of any OTB CZ - well maybe about the same as my preB. I also think that the SA trigger will be the best I have once it is properly broken in. It is a nice platform for the 40, and well balanced. I also think it is the nicest looking CZ presently offered. You can by 12 round Mec-Gars for it.

Sure...

Here it is:

BTW - this is a thread about a problem with a guy's 75B40. He solved it with fluff and buff, and extractor spring - maybe a recoil spring. Some think it is more accurate than the 9mm generally, but I cannot say yet. Shooting a 40 is a bit harder than the 9mm, but can be mastered. The CZ platform is pretty good at taking the recoil.

If you CAN latch on to a 40B (a discontinued model - original joint venture with Colt fell through), and feel the grip and like it, it may be another way to go. The 40B's seem to have had fewer problems OTB than any late model CZs, and they are commander sized and lhave lightweight frames. CDNN still has some, I think. BUT... they have a straight grip which some people don' like as much as the traditional CZ75 grip, which is admittedly pretty darn good. The CZ forum has a site for every model in some way.

I have had ZERO problems with my CZ75 in .40 cal, over the last 4 years. My most favorite semi automatic, far more accurate than I am!

Thanks.

I like my Glock 22, but I think it's a little light for hottish .40 S&W loads. I figured that the extra mass of the CZ75 would soak up some of the recoil.

There's a guy who comes to one of the local gunshows who usually brings a pretty good spread of CZs along with everything else.

I got one a while ago, and have probably put about 500 rounds through it without any failure. It is also a bit more controllable compared to a Ruger P94 I've also shot a bit.
