I've had several CZ's in the past and always had a good experience with them. My dealer currently has a CZ75B SA in 9mm in stock and I like the trigger pull as I'm a big 1911 fan. However, I would like to have one chambered for the 40S&W and would like opinions of those that have this gun and how they like it. Thanks

I just got one back in February. I have only gotten to shoot it on one occasion, but all I can say is SWEEEEEEETTTTT!!!!

This is the third 40 S&W that I have owned and it is the best. THe first was a Smith model 410, which was pretty good, shot nice but I thought that it wasn't small enough for carry purposes. I then traded it toward a Taurus PT 140. Little hand cannon described this gun well. Trigger was awful, but the gun was small, lite and carried well. After the frame cracked I sent it back, got it fixed and traded it towards the CZ 75B.

Man am I glad that I bought this gun. I love the grip and the all steel frame really soaks up the 40 recoil. I was loading the magazines with a mixture of 135 gr JHP, 180 grain TC lead and 180 grain JHP and the gun never missed a beat with either the CZ mag or the ProMag. It is really thin and I will probably carry this on occasion, since I have learned that i can conceal a full size pistol. THe double action trigger pull on mine is long and actually heavier than the Taurus, but this gun gets carried Cocked and Locked.

The CZ75B is a great gun and I really like the 40 S&W round. Some will disagree with me on my caliber choice but it is defenitely better than a sharp stick!!

I think you will like it.

I like the 9mm much better simply because of the nose of the gun. Notice the continuous exposed rails on the .40 caliber model. It's also wider and heavier. I believe the 9mm has a nicer, sleeker look

The .40 version of the 75SA is almost as accurate as the 9mm.
Mine had a CZ-USA trigger job, MMC adjustable Nights and CZF Hakan Grips.

First shots out of it put two Wolf .40s side by side @ 25 yards. The
Speer Gold-Dots were equally impressive.

As stated, the steel frame helps control the snappy .40 recoil.

CZ-USA created the 75SA to offer a Match Grade pistol at economy pricing.

I really like my CZ 75B .40 S&W; its not a single action, but the S/A trigger pull on this one is excellent.

Although I had some jamming problems when I first got it, everything has been corrected, and it is accurate and reliable. In addition, the handfit and balance of it are very good.

The first two SAs I ever shot were both 40s and they were the guns that made me want to get a CZ75B SA. Ended up getting an IPSC Standard first which make a lot of other guns seem kinda Lorciny. :p

Around these parts, I literally probably saw 10 40 S&W SAs on shelves before I saw a single 9mm SA. And I bought the second one that I saw - the first one had a price of $450 on it and while it's still a very solid choice at that price point, other shops had the 40s at closer to $380 to $400.

You can't go wrong with either one. If you want a 40 caliber hole, get a 40 but I prefer the 9mm... Of coruse, I don't game. ;)

Thanks for all the replies everyone. There is a gun show here this weekend and it is usually pretty good. If I can't find one there I may go back and try to trade with my dealer for the 9mm.
