Czech vz. 24 AIM Surplus

I found at Czech Mauser on AIMsurplus for $230. It says the bores will not be bright, but will have deep lands and grooves. I'm no expert and have little experience with Mausers at all. Is the bore supposed to be bright and shiny like most rifles are preferred? Or is what AIM is describing supposed to be the norm? Thanks...

Don't be overly concerned about it. Most mil-surps have less than shinny bores. As long as you don't have a lot of pitting near the breech and no muzzle wear you should be OK. I have some nasty looking bores that shoot OK.

You can do a electrolysis cleaning of the bore.
