I have an old (pre WWII)Walther PPK that was my uncles.
It needs a new grip so I don't shoot it too much.
I've always heard that the DA pull on a PPK is horrible.
I find this one to be on the heavy side but butter smooth.
What specifically is "wrong" with the average PPK's DA pull?

I don't know if you have the owner's manual for your PPK but it tells you that the double action sequence is "For a quick first shot when fine accuracy is unnecessary." The DA trigger on all PPK's is very heavy by design. I seldom, if ever, use the double action on mine, all you have to do is cock the hammer with your thumb and your ready top go. There is nothing "wrong" with your PPK, it is designed that way so that drawing from a holster you won't accidentally fire a round. You have to take deliberate action to fire the gun in that mode. Not so in SA, she'll fire with very little trigger pull. If you don't have an owner's manual, go to www.waltheramerica.com and order one because disassembly is a little tricky and the Safety/Decocker takes a little getting used to also.
If you go to www.gunaccessories.com you will find several brands of grips for your gun from around $30 to $150.
A tip for you, hopefully you have 2 Walther magazines because PPK's don't seem to like after market mags. Also the gun is a 70 year old design and lots of the older ones don't like JHP's. Mine is a 1996 era and it fires Gold Dot 90gr JHP's ok but I intend to polish the feed ramp and throat in hopes of ensuring JHP reliability.
The Walther PPk is a fine handgun you either love em or you hate em, I love mine and hope you enjoy yours. Good Luck, John

The PPK trigger pull is grossly heavy. I put the lightest Wolff mainspring I could get along with an XP recoil spring. This rebalances the spring forces in the weapon and makes a world of difference. The primers are still crushed, so light primer strikes aren't an issue, and the trigger is still DA safe.

The PPK's I've used (only 3 :( ), have had triggers as you discribed. From what I've been told going w/ lighter springs can lighten that pull to a managable level.
