I'm new to DA revolvers. With my rifles and shotguns I've always pulled the trigger with the last joint of my trigger finger, out on the fleshy pad.

The DA trigger pull takes a lot more force. Is it OK to stick the finger a little bit farther in and pull closer to, or on, the joint?

What's propper form when pulling a DA trigger?

Not just OK, but that is the generally accepted practice. Your exact position will depend upon the size of your hands and fingers, and the width of the trigger. Some do use the center of the pad, but most will at least reach a little farther, with the first crease (joint) at the edge of the trigger, to the first crease being centered on the face of the trigger. I put the crease pretty much on the center of the trigger with medium and medium-large sixguns, and reach a bit farther with my SP101 snubbies and J-frames. I can't get the first crease centered on an N-frame, and therefore I cannot shoot them well. Welcome to THR!
