I recently aquired a "NIB" Daisy 2201 bolt action .22LR single shot which has been stored in the original box since June 1990. The rifle has never been fired and the factory grease has solidified and frozen the firing pin and spring.

I'm looking for disassembly instructions for the bolt. A patent number would be good too. I called Daisy but they could not provide a patent number or disassembly info. These rifles were only made from 1988-90.

The Gun Digest Rimfire Disassembly book covers the Daisy 2201 but does not include instructions for complete bolt disassembly. :banghead:

My last resort is just soaking the entire bolt in solvent but I'd rather not due to the cheap painted finish that these rifles have.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks !!

I'm going to bump this old thread back up to see if anyone has the bolt disassembly info as I could use it too. Trying to clean my Daisy 2201 that I got in the 3rd grade (I'm 30 now) and I can't figure out how to take the bolt apart.

All of the Daisy .22 rifles were recalled.Poor design and manufacturing resulted in many blowups.Consider yourself lucky you never shot it.
