I got the cheaper bamboo stocked gun, but otherwise yeah. Got it with Mikes full tune, which Ive never had done before
You may be back to Flying Dragon. Mike does a good job, and let's just say that the XS-60C is a very neat rifle that comes with a free tune. Only 600FPS, but accurate, and CO2, so no special considerations for scope or hold. It's a different kind of fun.

Ok looks like a rws clown?

It is the clone of the Diana Mdl 34.. MIke has had a stellar rep for as long as I can remember. Never owned one of his, but know of many that have. Smart move to get his full tune. You can bet the gun has been checked out and lubed correctly.

Here is a list of what the Diana typically shoot with different pellets. The Fly Dragon should be similar. Both for 177 and 22.cal FPS at different yds.

They look like a nice affordable versions of the real guns.

What a lot of people do not seem to understand is that a Air Rifle is very real, but the targets are scaled down. I showed on another post of shooting the Center Vein of a leaf for instance. Try this is summer. Move target out to say 25 yds and put something on a target to attract flies. They start nailing the flies.

Yes I know how accurate these guns are, I shot one for some time in jrotc and had a few perfect 300s. My dad has a chipmunk problem I may try it next time I'm up there, I would think one to the brain should kill them.

like I said I'll make a pellet trap, it maybe just a cardboard box with old shirts for now.

Did all 853 have the lothar wather barrels?

I killed a pile of squirrels and chipmunks with a daisy 880 pumped to 6 (cause that HAS to be better than 5 right?), while visiting my uncle.
That only does something like 390-400fps from the 880 i had for a while a few years ago for checking my chrono.
If the 835 manages to achieve 450+ it should do just fine.

I dont know for certain, but all ive ever read or heard about the 853s is that they all carry LW barrels, as do the 753s. The 953s do not i believe.

Ya that's what I've read the 953 does not have the lw barrel.

I remember the 853 would flatten the pellets when they hit the trap. I got hit with one on the cheek after it some how bounced back, it smarted. So I think Mr chipmunk should be killed. My bad has like 10 or 12 pigeons that always eat in his yard, about 20 yards that would be a good test.

Yeah, i had some issues killing pigeons with my multi pumps as a kid, those were rated at a bit more than the 853.
They can be hard to kill for what they are, seen some take a good bit of a shotgun but and still fly away.

Dad has some moles to, they can be hard to kill sometimes. Maybe let his jack Russell take them out.

Gun just came in, looks great. Wood looks good no dings or scratches. Just a few rack numbers which is cool. Finnish looks good some bare spots on the receiver and that's just fine. Gun came with a new rear peep sight in the box, the front sight/barrel weight looks new. As well as 2 new 1/2 stock spacers. A new nylon sling, and the front sight inserts.

Unfortunately I don't have any pellets right now, some should be coming soon. I may try Wal-Mart again and see if they got any in.

Are there any other requirements like in other CMP programs or just send order form in with payment?
Thanks deadeye.
Anyone can buy the used 853 that's what makes it so nice, normally you download or print the order form and fill out and mail in or fax it. I don't have a printer so I called and asked if I could order on the phone. The very nice lady said no problem and printed the form, I told her what I wanted address and credit card info.

Came out to $ 119.95 shipped. Like I said it was delivered less then 48 hours after. I wouldn't mind getting another or two, maybe my sister's boys would like one. Numrich has the sporter stocks for $22. They say the Monte Carlo stocks are from the 753 which is more of adult gun.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I read something about being a organization or belonging to one. Thanks again deadeye.
Most guns you have to be a cmp member, which I think you get thru the nra. You may be able to get other air guns to but I'm only positive on the m853 daisy. They have the single shot savage 22lr with the target peep, I wouldn't mind joining to get one of them. Plus I believe there's a cmp range about 15 miles from me.

Back around 69 when we were in our early teens we had the old 760 pump pellet rifles and went under the 81/17 bridge at night with a good flashlight to shoot pigeons. They roosted under the bridge and were easy pickens. Old Matt Austin was a old black man in his eighties and he bought the pigeons off of us for a quarter a piece which was good money for a kid at that time.
The railroad had a big garage on Broad Ave where tjey worked on the engines and they disconneted the rail cars and rehooked them for the next trip. The Agway feed mill across the tracks from Berts house, so the grain trains leaked grain while sitting waiting to get unloaded. So the pigeons had plenty of food and about a mile of bridge to roost under plus there was three small railroad bridges going over Robinson Street they roosted under. It was a hot spot for pigeons and quarters.

I liked the 760 always had 2 or 3 around, they shot good for the money. Like liked shifting the tips off the dandelions and water bugs in Are brook.

most of the pigeons I shot were out of silos, get a shot off then hide. They came back in about 5 minutes, they would always fly the same path on the way back.

So who has one and likes shooting them, are there any other uses of fun shooting games you like. My lgs had some nra 10m targets I'll pick up.

I have one and did the trigger mod on it. Shot indoor winter league the past 2-1/2 years with it in Master Class. Took 2nd the first year, 3rd the second year and moved up to a Walther LGR 1/2 way through the third year due to 2 new shooters shooting $1000+ rifles. You can only push these guns so hard. Also shoot an online match on Rimfire Central.

There a good shooting gun for the money, I did very well with one when I was in jrotc. I'll do the trigger one day, this one is about 4.5 lb, I don't mind it to much. I'm still waiting on some pellets, but loonwulf sent a few and shoots fine.

There is a cmp range close but don't have the money to join.
