has a no guns sign on their front door. I really wanted their ribs, but was carrying so didn't go in. I later called and advised they had lost "our" buisness(a group of ex-LEO's). TGI Friday's was good for the group.

I am local to that area and I too refuse to give posted businesses my money. Curious as to how management responded when you spoke with them.

I'm glad you called them and said that. Cops tend to travel/eat in packs. It may well cause them to reconsider.
Me, if I see a cop eating someplace, I go there, as the food is usually the best (pricewise) in town.

Call and ask who owns the franchise for that particular location. Get their name and send a letter or at least an email to them explaining to them that they've posted that they don't want you and other law abiding carry permit holders in their establishment and that you took your, and your party's money, to their nearby competition. Tell them how much the bill was that night at TGIF and that what you realistically expect to not spend with them. Remind them that carry permit holders are vetted by the state as being law abiding citizens, have enough discretionary income to afford to spend hundreds of dollars on their firearm and hundreds more on eating out in a weak economy, and that turning away you and your business actually looses them twice as much since that money assuredly goes to their competition.
