Been wondering about them for years. I finally got one. I hope to shoot it today. I like it so far. Now I just have to try it out. I got a good deal on GB, just could not pass it up. I was surprised my bid held up.

You have a great gun. Now you may want a Houge grip ,the nice soft rubber ones and see if you can tight'n up that .006 barrel gap down to .002 to .004 . I have had one for 30+ years and would not trade for a S&W JM custom. There are some barrels that can still be had at CZ- dan wesson revolver section along with some front site blades ,wrenchs and a few other things. Great gun ..

I had one many years ago. Never could get used to the goofy cylinder latch position. The ex-wife took it when she left and I was glad to see both of them gone.

I had a Model 15 in the mid '70s,as well as a Model 14 and a Model D11. GREAT revelvers! The forward cylinder release latch was easy to master but made S&W and Colt latches difficult afterwards. My Model 15 w/4" barrel was extremely accurate with 110gr Super-Vel ammo. Don't remember what I traded it for. Or why.

I've owned and shot one of my DW 15-2's for more than 30 years now. It's never let me down. For several of those years it was my only CF handgun and was carried daily while I went about my duties on a small cattle ranch in SW MO. The Lord only knows just how many rds have been through it, but it's still more accurate than I can hold for and reasonably tight everywhere it counts.

Personally, as a southpaw I've always liked the cylinder latch because it's handier for me than the more conventionally placed types.

I've owned several other makes of .357 over the ensuing years but, for the most part, they've come and gone. My DWs stick around because they work so well for me. YMMV, but mine are keepers.

Dan Wessons owned Silhouette competitions for many years. They are unusually accurate due to the tension on the barrel. Also the forward latch is a superior design. That's where you need it most. If you have Smith and Wesson's custom shop make you a revolver it will have the forward latch.
These guns are also very strong and will stand up to heavy loads without going loose for years. As for barrels Genny at DW says they still make them. Just because something is not listed on the CZ website does not mean they don't have it.
I agree with the above poster and set the B/C gap to .004 or maybe less. Do this where the cylinder is closest to the barrel.
You have an excellent gun. Mechanically it's an excellent design which many people don't understand. There's also a Dan Wesson forum with all the knowledge you could want. I know Seth Wesson (Dan's son) has dropped in too.

A Dan Wesson 15-2 was my first revolver. I picked up a used one about 20 years ago, with a 15" barrel. I wish I had kept it.

Dan Wesson's are great revolvers and looks like you got a pretty nice one. DW's have started to climb in value over the past couple of years and it's getting hard to get good deals!

I shot it this afternoon, and it shoots very well indeed. I am a happy camper.

If you practice a bit the DW latch is easier to work than most . A right handed shooter can use there left hand to reach around the neck of the revolver and as you push down on the latch ,push it through with your middle fingers from the right side and push the ejection rod then placeing a reload from your right hand into the chambers and click it shut all with mainly the left hand. It does make for pretty quick reloads but even at the range it is just smooth and easy to do.

That's funny, I had shot various S&W revolvers and a Taurus and I thought the DW cylinder latch was the right way and the others were "goofy". I still feel that way almost 30 years later.

I bought a complete early 99% 15-2 Pistol Pac with original papers and buckle and patch-everything yoday for $500 out the door. I think I bought for 50-60% of what they are going for on the internet auctions. I will keep it , I will shoot it at the range. Pics after I pick it up in 10 days.

Markely's Range in Watsonville Calif. has been a gold mine for good old stuff for me for 20 years.

I got the case and swag but no 8" barrel with a scope! And yes the Monsoon made Pistol Pacs have gone up lately.
