anybody got anything on the fit and quality of the dan wesson
1911 series? thanks...

CZ-UB owns Dan Wesson and CZ-USA distributes the pistols.

However, they are not made by CZ, they are assembled at the Dan Wesson facility here in the U.S. Dan Wesson uses premium parts of their own manufacture and outsources from Wilson, Ed Brown, etc. There's nothing Czech about them.

Dan Wesson is one of the better values, if not the best value, in the premium 1911s under $1,000.00. I own a PM-7, and I have loved mine so much I am adding a Razorback before fall.

Dan Wesson?
Yes, very good selection.

I own a copy of the Patriot Expert and a Patriot Commander, both in stainless.

Great shooters. Well built.

If you purchase a Dan Wesson you will not be disappointed.

Regards

I've got a CBOB 10mm and RZ10, two of the finest 1911's i own....my Glocks hate em cause their so purrty. Check the thread titled "Tight" for a photo of the fit and finish of the CBOB

Please scroll down and read the posting "Tight".

That frame/slide fit is up there with Les Baer and is tighter than Wilson Combat. My full house custom gun doesn't have that tight of a fit.

I had really bad luck with Dan Wesson's prior to the CZ purchase. Recently I chanced it again and bought a C-Bob in 10mm. I just love 10mm and have wanted a 10mm carry pistol in the caliber for quite some time. I must say this pistol is night and day different from any previous Dan Wessons I have owned. Accurate, tight, so far reliable, and the fit/finish are exceptional. It is almost too pretty to carry....but that sure has not stopped me!

Valor is on my list. I own a CBOB in 45 which is on my hip as I type. Great guns for the money. Another option which is in line with the Valor but higher priced then the CBOB is Fusion Pistols. These are made by Bob Serva former president of Dan Wesson before CZ bought them out.

I own two DWs and I really like them. After one conversation with Bob Serva I was convinced he knew 1911s. Bob spent a lot of time on the phone and he answered many questions. I have yet to own a Fusion but I would not hesitate to order from Bob. Regards, Richard:)

dang it, just when I was about to decide between a Springfield Loaded or a Sig P220, you show me a Fusion pistol :banghead: looks sweet!! They say this is Made in the USA. How true is that? All of the parts are made in the USA or are they importing a certain percentage of the parts from overseas and keeping in line with the regulations so they can call it Made in the USA?

Has anyone owned one of this guns? If so, can you give us a report?

Email Fusion and I think you will find that Mr. Serva personally will answer those questions for you. I was set to buy one of their pistols but had a slight budget crunch at the last minute, so had to drop back to the C-Bob. I am perfectly happy with that choice, but was impressed with Fusion's responses to questions. Bob was timely and cordial. I may revisit a full-size 10mm from them at a later date.

I emailed Robert and he said "Most all of our parts are made in the USA in NY, MA, TX and GA. We use only top grade parts and materials." It seems like he is a smal shop and he isn't mass producing these.

well just from the pics, the cosmetics look outstanding. Very fine finish. I'm definetly thinking to add this to my list of .45's to get (SIG P220, Springfield Stainless Loaded, CZ-97).

Everyone I hand my DW CBOB to is impressed with the fit of the slide. I don't know how they do it for the $$, a real value handgun, no plastic anywhere of course.

I am looking at a pm7, i love the way it feels but my dealer also showed me a kimber team match. I thought it was alright. Not knowing much about either gun can some one help me and compare the two. I am also on a budget, the kimber is about $200 more than the dw. But I could live with it.

I own three post-CZ Dan Wesson 1911s. A PM7-10 in 10mm, PM7 in .45, and a CBOB in .45. I wouldn't part with any of them, however, my personal experience, which is echoed by lots of posts by others on this forum and also on GT, leads me to believe that if you purchase a new one there is a good chance it will have to go back to the factory at least once for service. Out of the three I own, one had to go back for a major problem and another one was very difficult to break in but functions fine now. A friend mine had to send his CBOB in also.

The Valor isnt on the CZ website. Where can WE get it? I am looking for a solid 1911 for my father.

It seems like the ads for the Dan Wesson 10mm Bobtails list it as a 7+1 weapon.

I thought that since it was a Commander-sized weapon it wouldn't be a problem using full-size magazines in it.

To those that own them, are you really stuck with 7+1 with a proprietary mag?

Or, can you use a standard 10mm mag, like a Tripp Research?

I was all set to start saving up for this pistol until I read the "7+1" capacity in the auction statements...

DW PM-7 problems

ccsteffler....What kind of problems did you have with your DW's? Is this a problem with most new guns? I am thinking of a DW PM-7 or a Kimber Team Match. I do like the DWs feel over the kimber.

If any of you are interested I got an email from a dealer on GunsAmerica that handles CZ/Dan Wesson blems at really good prices, saying he had some RZs and C-Bobs in stock. I had asked him to email me when he got a batch but ended up buying my C-Bob from Buds before he got any. The fellow's name is Kenny, and here is his email: [email protected]. He seems to have really good prices for the demo/blem guns. From what I hear they often have just minor cosmetic issues associated with handling. I would have bought one of those just to save money but in too big a hurry. My patience for buying new stuff is short.
