Copies of Dan Wessons Facebook post…

We know that many of you have been anxiously awaiting an update on the DWX, and as you all know, the COVID-19 Pandemic has drastically effected businesses world-wide through lockdowns, illness, and supply chain issues. Dan Wesson has been no exception.
Over the last year, we have come close to being able to ship the DWX multiple times, but each attempt has been met with obstacles and set-backs along the way. Due to these delays, and challenges we continue to face, we have decided to halt promotion of the DWX.
We understand that this will be a disappointment to many—us included—however, we pride ourselves on quality and we want to ensure that every pistol that leaves our facilities can meet the standards that we have set and that our customers deserve. We will continue to be committed to the DWX project until it meets these standards.

Another victim of the CV19 supply-chain disaster.

While I like the DWX concept, I got tired of waiting on one (.40) and picked up a NIB P229 in .40. I’m satisfied for now.

My impatience waiting for one was solved by the Wilson EDC X9, glad I didn’t wait.

Though a 229 Legion was high on the list too, but they didn’t have the SAO out yet when I got tired of waiting.

I felt pretty burned when Sig came out with the SAO right after I bought my 226 Legion.

Yeah, I liked my SAO 226 Legion so much but it was so heavy, and of course they finally released the SAO 229 a month or two after I got impatient and bought the Wilson.

Not that I’m mad about having the EDC X9, but if I had bought the 229 SAO I’m not sure I’d have gone with the Wilson.

Id still like a 229 Legion some day, but I’d go DA/SA with it now, since I do have the Wilson

Sig has been doing that for years. Make a few changes and bingo lets offer yet another model.
Keeps customers buying more stuff.

The first link does no appear to be legitimate (DW does not sell guns directly) You can pay with BITCOINS!

First one looked a little suspect, so I included the second. Which was in stock when I made the post.

Dan Wesson has announced on their Facebook page they have stopped promoting the DWX because they have not been able to produce the gun. They say they still intend to produce it in the future. They also commented on their Facebook page that they have never shipped any DWXs.

There is no information available that I can find on the internet about whether the problem is in the manufacturing process or if it is something to do with the business side.

The parent company, CZ, bought Colt last year and a couple of possibilities came to mind: 1. that the company's capital is being absorbed by paying for the purchase of Colt (CZ previously announced they would be moving their manufacturing plant to Little Rock, but cancelled that move a while ago). Or maybe 2. that CZ has decided to put money for new products into the Colt side of the business, raising the thought that maybe the DWX will end up being a Colt product that would get called something else. Or maybe 3. that there is a combination of 1 and 2 that goes something like Dan Wesson will fall to the wayside altogether while CZ puts all of its emphasis on Colt. All of that is speculation, but something is going on if DW cannot bring out a pistol that is totally within the technical grasp of CZ and DW to build, this during a period of time when pistols sales are hitting all time highs.

Could be due to the economic conditions. I couldn’t imagine trying to start up a new plant and hire all those new employees when no one wants to work

I lived in Kansas City for 12 yrs left in 2015, drove by CZ USA every day, became shooting friends with a CZ rep.

They built about 7 full size guns and 2-3 compacts.
No one saw them out in the wild.

From my conversations, Dan Wesson being in New York got hit fairly hard by covid and shut downs. Had a few issues with vendors that were supplying some key parts.
The DW plant is fairly small.

My issue is, CZ and DW have been on radio silence about this gun for 2 years. You email them nothing, nothing on their website or social media. A simple update from time would have nice.

sevt_chevelle -- until this week, when they put the announcement on Facebook that they are no longer promoting the DWX. They stated they will produce it out in the future. But making it is readily within their technical grasp, so there is something more at work here... they apparently made up some samples for Shot 2020...

Like a lot of folks, I wish they were a little more forthcoming. CZ, DW, and Colt all have tons of loyal fans, and we deserve a little information.
