Obviously (I hope) joking. As well known and liked as it is, I don't believe the Remington 870 gets the respect it deserves. We older guys like the hand work and fitting on some of the older models, but the 870 is a classic design of ruggedness and simplicity that is one of the icons of modern gunmaking. Even though it's over 50 years old, it probably hasn't been around long enough to get the respect it really deserves - maybe because it is so popular. I once heard an ornithologist say that if the American Robin was rare, people would be trekking through the woods to get a glimpse of them. But, because they're everywhere, most people rarely give them a second thought. I think something similar could be said about the 870.
