I haven't been following gun situations too much the last couple years, recently I started again in part to the recent events. So I searched around for the latest on Mosin rifles and seems like there isn't much around?

Saw a couple dealers on Gunbroker asking $300 or $400 for a run of the mill 1891.:what: There are few more reasonable prices on there but not THAT many listings. Jeez just a couple years ago Mosin's were everywhere for $100 on average.

I know mil-surp supplies dry up after a while but Mosins that fast?

That's Gunbroker and people trying to cash in on the panic with bolt guns...

Haven't seen the $89 Big 5 specials for awhile but they go on sale for $119 fairly often and I've heard of $99 specials recently.

x54R milsurp ammo has taken a price jump recently though... :(

Fishslayer I checked Classic arms, Aim surplus and a couple other places and everybody is out of stock. Panic buying on a Mosin, why?

I havent seen any in stock since the panic buying started. AIM had some M44's for a while but there gone now. I think people are buying them so the trips to the range are cheaper. 7.62x54R is much cheaper and easier to find out of the popular calibers right now

Prices on 1891s are going to be high because there are a lot fewer of them. The big glut of rifles as arsenal refurbished 91/30s. OF course, even those are guaranteed to run out sooner or later...

People who panic buy, will buy anything they can afford. Shockingly some people who make purchases based on emotion/reaction to events are not good with money.;)

I just came from a local gunshow and only saw one nice M91/30 dated 1935 . Everything looked perfect but when i check the bore, it was counterbored. The price was $250. Another guy has a nice Chicom SKS with blade bayonet with tight bore. Price was $400. Then an older man has a really nice Polish M44 in mint condition priced at $400 , he wouldnt badge on the price. Then theres this Russian man who has two nice Yugoslavian Tokarev priced at $300 a piece. People were just looking and not buying especially the ARs and ammo s were overpriced beyond comprehension.

One of our local dealers told me that there wasn't a supply issue with mosins, but it was more of a logistical issue. Most places (wholesalers/importers) that have them are so overwhelmed with the more-likely-to-be-banned stuff that they aren't shipping them or updating inventory.
