I'm getteing a new production ruger Blackhawk .41 magnum in a couple days. I have some 2400 and some Lead Head 215gr SWC bullets that run about 18BHN. Does anyone have any data for these bullets and 2400? I've looked in my lyman manual however the bullet that they show is a gas check design rather than a bevel base SWC. I want to use these for wild pigs so I'm looking for full on magnum loadings.

Just use the Lyman data you have and work up from the starting load.

Watch for signs of hard case extraction and stop and back off a 0.1 - 0.2 grain when you reach that point.

Do what rcmodel said. Gas check or not will make no difference in the powder charge. The bullets being 18BHN you should have no leading whatsoever anyway.
Have fun.
