Date of manufacture?

There is a problem here... 
Being able to date when a gun was made depends on the availability of production or shipping records. So far as I know, those records aren't available - at least to the public. I understand that a new company has returned some of the Ithaca shotguns to production, but I don't know if they have any of the original company's records or not.
