Here is my 8 yr old seating a primer on a work up we were doing, followed by her firing one of the rounds she made.

Also her first time shooting grampa's AR, she had a blast and wants to shoot more now that she makes the ammo.

BTW: the lack of safety glasses has been pointed out and rectified:eek:

precious moments... I can't wait to take my daughter to the range... just a few more years... I hope it's a hobby you both can enjoy for many years to come.

My best trips are when I take my girls. They love shooting, and fill in as my reloading staff. Passing on this responsiblility is the best thing we can do to ensure the future of of gun rights. Good for you.

I think it very important to stand very close to a young person while shooting, especially if shooting with more than one round in a semi-automatic gun.

Murphy's law is a live and well at the gun range, and being close to the young shooter allows the adult to keep the muzzle safely down range if something happens.

Sweet! I love it. My daughters both shoot and hunt with me. Good to see youngins into shooting. Just keep her off the electronics long enough to be really hooked.

very cool. i remember when my daughter was that age and loved to help me reload

In November My 12yr old daughter took her first deer with a custom loaded .270 low recoil round that she made up herself.
It was a great experience, plus none of the boys in her school who killed deer this year rolled their own:neener:

taraquian, my wife and I both got a good laugh with the picture of you daughter putting all her mighty weight into setting that primmer.

This business of parents having children doing things that show responsibility give me hope.

Thank you for your post.

Be careful you don't create a monster. My best friends 9 y.o. grandson has taken to competitive .22 shooting. My friend may have to take out a second mortgage to supply the ammo.

Seriously, young people who shoot grow up to be adults who shoot and vote.

Enjoy it while it lasts! When my daughter was 8, we enjoyed such things. Now that she is "Almost 14" she knows much more than I do, and such pedestrian activities are beneath her now.

Sigh.

I love it. The AR is great to teach kids how to shoot. The adjustable stocks are perfect. My Son got his first deer this year with the AR. I wish they would not be so vilified by the gun haters.
