Dang you Dave McCracken. My son and I went and shot some clays today (+100 on the Stoeger round count). When we got home, I was tired so, I squirted a little oil on it and sat down in front of the tube. While sitting there I decided to read some of Dave's most excellent 101 series. I thought to myself, I'll just see if Dave and I see eye to eye on cleaning (we pretty much do). Well after reading Cleaning 101, I got a case of the guilts, and went back into the gun room, broke it down properly, cleaned and oiled it, and properly cleaned the bore and choke tube. Now its nearly midnight and I am going to bed. I will sleep better though, knowing I did right by the shotgun.

Hey, that's just Dave being a good influence as usual. He has been a good influence for all the years I've 'known' him online, which dates back to Randy Cain's shotgun forum on the old GunSpot board in the mid- 1990s.

Hey Dave- how much longer before we get to be curmudgeons? :D

My guns are never dirty.

If you see my gun and it is dirty it is not a result of sloth but out of my desire to test long term reliabilty and function with a gun that is not clean. ;)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :D

No good deed goes unpunished. Now I feel compelled to go break down the whole mizpocha and clean them all. Again.

Thanks....
