David Kopel on Toomey-Manchin (It's worse than we think)

David Kopel, one of the brightest RTKBA lawyers, has an excellent analysis of Toomey-Manchin on Volokh here: http://www.volokh.com/2013/04/15/the-pro-gun-provisions-of-manchin-toomey-are-actually-a-bonanza-of-gun-control/

Kopel points out that Toomey –Manchin actually allows a federal gun registry (so long as HHS does it instead of DOJ), and it eviscerates the FOPA by adding exceptions for criminal activity (unlicensed possession) which swallow the rule. A more thorough analysis is available at the link above.

Excellent link and write-up. We'll wait and see how this mess goes, but gives one more thing to bring up about why we oppose this.
