Hello,
I recently purchased a Dan Wesson Pointman Seven .45 cal. 1911 model. Not thrilled with the stock sights, I ordered a Dawson Precision Fiber Optic front sight (to go with the stock Bomar adjustible rear sight). It came in the mail today, and I have to say, I'm not impressed. It is all plastic, and looks cheap as Hell. I am not thrilled about putting this plastic crap on my expensive gun. In addition, the Customer Service Rep I talked to when I called to order told me the thinner the fiber optic rod, the more light it picks up. the thin red rod that comes stock with this sight only made a decent glow when it was under direct light. Granted, the company does send an extra green and red rod, but still. . .
My questions are, have any of you purchased this sight, and if so, what are your opinions? I'm reluctant to actually install this sight, and right now am considering sending it back for a refund.
Thanks --
