DC looking at legalizing some sporting shotguns

Dear Mr Mendelson,

Do you have any plans to amend DC law and legalize shotguns that have
barrels of 18 inches or more?

Currently any shotgun with barrel under 20 inches (not 18 like Federal
laws) are banned in the District.

Many sporting shotguns are made with barrels of 18 and 19 inches.

Right, so then we should rejoice in the notion of barrel length restrictions on shotguns that are worse than the ones at the federal level. Never mind that these sporting shotguns with barrel lengths of under 20 inches are useful not only for games and hunting, but home defense.
