Got a report from a customer with the latest DEM. He said he shot a 1 1/2" group at 25 meters using 28gr of trip7, dry wad and his cast .454" rb. First time out with it. He is going to shoot some 100 yard targets with a skeletonized stock attached.
Here's some pics:

Dicky's right. It's a '60 full flute cylinder so the smaller dia. where the locking notches locate are abbreviated because of the flutes. Many times the notches are too close to the flutes (or Vice versa) and the tall side is shorter than the short side of the notch. This one was a good one.

Never have seen those flats on any black powder fluted revolver of any kind. None on mine.

Ok, y'all can argue about it if you want to but all you have to do is Google "fluted 1860 Colt" and every one is just like this from originals to the most recently made copy.

Thank you Iv2tinker !!

What does a Dead Eye Mule get you?

Back in early WBS Centennial times, they sold those fluted Armys as the "Wade Hampton" model.
That includes a small reverse tapered arbor mounted in the barrel lug. It enters a hole in the frame and a set screw is tightened against it. It locks the butt joint together there.
That's in addition to the Outlaw Mule/ Rented Mule.

Sorry. You are right. Mine have those flats. Just never noticed. Should have looked. Guess I was just having a moment or two or three.
