I just got the Lee Pro 1000 press with the 3 die set for reloading .223. I took the Decap/Sizing die which is labeled .223 DO out of the Lee Pro 1000 and placed it in my single stage press to start.

When I decapped and resized the case resized too small for my bullet. I also cannot fit the lee case length gage for the trimmer into the brass. Can anyone tell me why this is resizing the cases too small to fit my bullets and size gage for the cutter??

The cases that have been through the decapper the internal diameter is .216 compared to the .223 to .224 for the unsized 1 time fired cases.

The decapping pin sizes the inside of the neck, yours must be to small, wrong caliber. Take it out and measure it, should be .222"

Thanks for the advice. I called Lee today and man I must say I am impressed. It sounded like a mom and pop place when I called. They said the pin was probably not a resizing pin and was just a decapping pin that got placed in there by accident. They shipped me a new pin without any questions.

Sure enough the pin in the die was the same length the whole way up. Talk about being frustrated as a first time reloader.... Luckily we had a 7mm magnum set also and made a few of them. not to see how they shoot :)
