deer hunting in north alabama

who deer hunts in north alabama? is there any good public land, i live in cullman, i hunted bank head last year took two nice does, any one need a hunting partner? i moved here 2 years ago from south west mississippi, and man do i miss the hunting! i took nice bucks there every year, 3 8 pts the last year i was there, im almost ready to give up hunting if i cant find a place to hunt , i also love to turkey hunt and hog hunt , any one out there got any ideas? thanks *csa*

I hunt in the Scottsboro/Stevenson area. I'm in a hunting club in Stevenson and there is an excellent WMA above Scottsboro. It is the Skyline WMA. I hunted at my club this weekend and my wife killed her first deer up there Saturday, a really big old doe. My cousin hunted Skyline and shot a very nice 8pt. Go to www.outdooralabama.com and there will be plenty of info there on the WMA's. Skyline is having a big hunt the Fri, Sat, and Sun after Thanksgiving.

Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge is a great place to hunt. It's primitive weapon, though, meaning BP or bow.

I hunt 1700acres in Woodville, AL. I agree with the pervious gentlemen about Skyline. It is a very large mountainous management area and good hunting. From my understanding, when the Walls of Jericho were added to Skyline WMA, its been opened to hunting aswell. I hiked the Walls in Feb last year, and its covered-up with deer sign. However to be honest, in that particular area, I would strictly trophy hunt b/c its gonna be H**L dragging one out of the there! You can't use 4-wheelers, however you can use horses on certain trails, so thats an idea if you have some.
Wheeler WMA...........if I was going to choose one, I'd drive the additional hour to Skyline WMA!!
