Deer rifle for my wife

Mine started out with a .44 Deerfield but that was on the top edge of her comfort level and when I got a Marlin 1884C in .357 she took over that. She is deadly with it at the ranges we shoot deer here in the Missouri Ozarks, which is 50 to 100 yards. It is perfectly capable of dropping a deer if the person behind it can shoot straight and has little or no recoil even with ‘stiff’ loads. She will happily go through 100 or more rounds at the range with no complaint at all. The 1884 also has the advantage of using .38s for practice. I got this gun for Christmas several years ago but haven’t got to put many rounds through it. #1 daughter has taken over the Deerfield so I am reduced to shooting my .308 Handi rifle. With a couple of pounds of lead added to the stock it also is a pussycat to shoot. Got two deer with it this year. I won’t let my wife or daughter anywhere near it.
