Defender becomes EMP

So we have all been wondering about the "Defender" that Springfield advertised and the gun rags drooled over right?
Well it appears they have re-tagged it the EMP

That seems awfully heavy for a 9mm these days. 23oz? That's 3oz heavier than my Taurus .45 ACP.

Wouldn't call that "micro". The Rohrbagh, that's micro.

How's the Springfield going to be anything better than an old Star BM, out of curiousity?

I wouldn't exactly call them god.

While I think it's a good idea I wouldn't have much use for one seeing as the standard 1911 is already too small for my hands.

If you are going to micro it, do the whole thing like the LS-9 from STI...

It looks like a 1911 but it's not.

Reading the description they say it has something like 15 re-designed parts.
Which means 1911 stock part won't fit.
So it will be another XD line. If it breaks you gotta send it in for repair. If you want something custom send it to their custom shop. etc.

If they turn out to be worth a damn, I'll probably have to have 2 of 'em; one for me, and one for the wife, so I don't lose custody of mine.

P.S. The EMP could stand to lose the ambi safety though... Those make me a bit paranoid on a cocked 'n locked SA.
