I'll be on the Ron Smith show tomorrow (Thursday) at 5pm EST on WBAL 1090. If you're not in the Balt/DC/VA area, and want to tune in, it's http://www.wbal.com/shows/smith/

The show is pretty prominent in the AM radio talk show genre around here, and he leads in from Rush Limbaugh, so I'm hoping to get a good listenership and get some attention on the CCW issue here in MD. Cause, boy o boy, we need it.
 
Helmetcase is one of Maryland Shall Issue's finest and most active members. We're lucky to have him on OUR side of this.

Hopefully this is the year that our cause starts getting some real attention and not just lip service...doing what I can to make sure that's the case.

One suggestion is to use the private security guard example: If a person can get a handgun permit to guard a paying client, a bank, or a supermarket, why shouldn't/couldn't a person get the same permit, under the same training and background check criteria, to guard themselves or their families? That's essentially what you are: a private security guard for yourself or your loved ones.

What is the difference "to society" between an armed private security guard, an armed bodyguard, or a CCW-holding citizen? A paycheck?!

Follow this up with the fact that in MD right now under the present law one can "be given" :rolleyes: , on the whim of the state police, a personal-protection CCW permit without a lick of training under yourr belt.

And that CCW records are non-public "investigative files" that cannot be audited by outside watchdog groups (like the news media in other states like Virginia, Florida and Ohio) to be sure the state police "whims" are not out of line.
 
Well that was fun. An hour goes by quickly if you're breaking for commercials. Ron is definitely on our side. Bob of MCSM suggested we have a range day where we invite some radio personalities like Ron Smith and Chip Franklin for a shoot-and-learn. I like that idea.
 
Quite a bit of chatter about CCW on the Tom Marr show this morning too. I tuned in a little late and only caught the last 7 or 8 minutes of it.

Very pro-ccw though.
