Can a holder of a License to Carry and a C&R License, purchase a firearm for delivery to himself, one that normally is not considered a C&R item? In other words, does an individual who wants to buy a new Glock for instance still have to have it delivered to a 3rd party FFL or can he receive it himself? This item would not be for his collection but his personal carry weapon.

1. If you are purchasing the non-C&R handgun from a private party within your own state, and your state law allows it, you can have the gun delivered directly to you.

2. In all other instances, the non-C&R handgun will have to be transferred to you by an 01 FFL in your state of residence.

Your license to carry has nothing to do with it, and your C&R License is only good for curios and relics, hence the C&R in the title of the license....

You obviously don't have a C&R. The application states at least 500 times that "modern" guns may not be obtained nor is the C&R a license to do business.

They seem pretty adamant about it.

Your answer appears to be at odds with "NavyLT" in that such a purchaser could purchase and receive the item from a seller within his home state. As you are very learned in what the ATF says about the C&R Licensee, I'm sure you also read where the C&R would also have to meet all "Brady Bill" requirements. It's these Brady Bill requirements that I was interested in and believe "NavyLT" has satisfactorily answered that. But again, tks for your comments.

Having a C&R doesn't exclude you from other state and federal laws.

The one to which NavyLT is referring goes like this: "Intrastate sales are not regulated by the federal government". As far as the feds are concerned, you can ship firearms directly to each other inside the same state, and to another eligible state resident all you like (dependent on state and local laws, of course).

Why would having a C&R restrict the guy from intrastate sales?
