This really sucks....I was willing to stomach a democratic house as long as the GOP controlled the Senate. Now it looks like the Dem's will control both chambers. :barf: We can look forward to House Speaker Pilosi:barf: and the liberal wack jobs John Conyers:barf: on the judiciary committee and Henry Waxman:barf: on the govt reform committee. Rest assured, with Speaker Pilosi and these clowns controlling the critical committee's, there will be NO pro 2A bills that ever make it to the house floor. Cross your fingers and pray that we don't face something like Brady Bill II or another Assault Weapons Ban.:barf: Bottom line....gun owners and the 2nd Ammendment lost bigtime!!

It's Pelosi, not Pilosi as you wrote.
And BTW, smilies make your argument as valid as a myspace rant about hairspray or rap.

Hahahaha. Whatever. It's times like these that gun owners and their respective groups grow strength to defeat anti gun laws. The NRA was never as strong or as motivated as it was during the mid 1990's. To be strong you need a very stong opponent. And even sometimes, when your opponent is stronger than you are, and you know you will never give up, you have gained tremondously.

Hell, maybe the second AWB will be a joke with easy ways around it, just like the first one!

My argument is valid, quit being so anal. Explain to me how having these clowns in power is good for the 2nd Ammendment??? If I want to insert smilies in my post, I will! :p

I just watched Nancy Pelosi, with Chuck Shumer standing behind her, talking about how things are going to change in the house. I think I'm gonna be sick.
The best we can hope for is gridlock, and maybe a little eye opening when the dems actually have to come up with something besides self-rightious complaining.

Oh heck be happy. At least now until we eventally get another terrorist atttack the .gov will not be able to know which .gov books you are reading at a .gov library. I mean our civil liberties will be intact again. Sure. I am just going to laugh and laugh and laugh. I doubt the rural area I live in will be attacked but those large liberal cities well that is another thing altogether but at least the .gov library book reading will be protected from the .gov. :D And I have all the firearms and ammo I need. Sorry for those who don't. The only thing I need from .gov is national defense everything else I can provide myself. So I am going to set back and just laugh and wait.

Explain to me why you think the second amendment is a higher cause than ALL other freedoms.

I stand for the 2A.

But I also know that the BUMS must GO.

And they have GONE.

I welcome the changes, FOXNews probably doesn't.

Explain to me why you think the second amendment is a higher cause than ALL other freedoms.
Piece o' cake. It's the only enumerated right that could conceivably be used to restore the others.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next couple years.

Explain to me why you think the second amendment is a higher cause than ALL other freedoms.

It's the only one that ensures the others. Once that one is defeated they can pluck out the others at will and there isn't a thing we can do about it.

As I recall during the 90's, the Clinton gun control agenda ran roughshod all over the GOP and the NRA, they were unable to stop it or slow it down. If they launch another gun control assault, I'm not confident the NRA or the GOP could beat it back. The only positive factor would be that the dem's have learned that gun control is a non-starter with most voters, it cost them the Congress in 1994. I hope they have learned a lesson and will remember that.

Two years from now, if the dem's have attempted a long list of gun control laws......VOTE THEM OUT!

"Piece o' cake. It's the only enumerated right that could conceivably be used to restore the others."

Wayne, that's a damn good quote. 100% correct, it's not the only ammendment that matters, but when worst comes to worst, it's the one that speaks the loudest.

I just disagree with the left wing ACLU that we have lost any freedoms. I do not abide by their legal theories. Just cause the ACLU screams something does not make it so. I think all will be more clear in the next 5 to 10 years. Islam is on a global march and it has just begun. We will maybe win but it will be bloody and hard and many liberties will be curtailed at sometime to win. We will get them back once we win. If we lose all is lost anyways. It is just gonna take a little longer and a lot more pain and death for the real fight to begin. I do not understand how anyone could think the other side is just going to stop and make nice. They have no intention to do so. Islam is not a religion of PEACE no matter what the elite say. I believe and remember what Tommy Franks said a lilttle bit after the toppling of the Iraq government. Paraphrasing----The Amercian people have no idea of what liberties they will loose with the next big terrorist attack if we do not keep that from happening. The .gov will clamp down so hard and fast we will not know what hit us and we will welcome it cause we will have to for survival. I believe him.:uhoh:

Gridlock would be preferred

The best we can hope for is gridlock, and maybe a little eye opening when the dems actually have to come up with something besides self-rightious complaining.

Yes, I agree. I live in Portland and frequently hear the uber-liberal whining. Now that they have their chance, what will they do with it? Let's face it, both sides are weak choices at best. Republicans believe in our gun rights more, unless your Schwarzenegger sp?, but the current administration is also responsible for raiding our rights. Haebeus corpus (sp?) and wiretapping, those were not Democratic initiatives fellas, those were your beloved Republicans stripping those rights from you because of the actions of a handful of foreigners.

I guess it's time to go purchase more firearms while I still can. I might just have to get a 50cal so I can have one before they all disappear. I've got no need for one, but then again, I don't need beer either, but life is more pleasant with it around.

i highly doubt they will go for the guns this time.. they have far too much stuff to sort out first.

maybe if they remain in control for a few terms..... but not now

They will not get rid of the wiretapping. They will just pass a law to straighten it all out. I will bet you on that one. That was just a political scream to get votes. Just wait and see. Plus I am not aganist what .gov was doing. I think data mining calls to and from the USA to suspected terrorist numbers in foreign countries is not a big deal. It may save a city. Now the haebious (sp)crap is of no concern to me. I do not think POW needs all the legal protections that citizens have. They have already mostly worked that out as well. As far as I am concerned get the info and then shoot them. They are enemy combantants. Fighters out of uniform. It is legal to kill them on the spot. That is how the war will eventually be fought anyways. It will have to be. We will not win it by fighting it with lawyers and not soliders and the CIA and covert operations.

Losers complain, winners look for ways to win again.

So.... are we just going to whine about all the evil things the D's will do.

OR

Is there going to be some honest self reflection and redirection on the why and how this occured. 2008 is coming up real fast and the GOP better get it's rear in gear or the slide will continue.

A slap to the face has been given because criticism was falling on death ears. Maybe if more R's were critical of the current situation(s) - then this fiasco wouldn't have occured and the House and Senate would still be in conservative hands.

This has happened before and it will happen again. The people of the United States have an uncanny ability to self correct when either party has gone too far. It happened in the early 90's with the Dem's and it is happenning now with the R's.

Dem House + Dem Senate =

Wow, we don't get too many wacky liberals on this board...nice picture!

Tell, me, if the liberals are going to be so great for this country, please enumerate for me their plan for Iraq, the war on Terror, handling Iran and North Korea, the economy (wait I know this, more taxes), and energy. Because, to this date, all I've heard from the left is "we need change". Never a plan. So please fill in the gaps for me, thanks.

Man, you guys need to relax. I am from California, we deal with this all the time. The way you guys are going on you would think the world has come to an end.

However, just let me say this. All of you on here who looked down at Californians and wrote us off and treated us like second class citizens, guess what? I warned you. I told you that Californian politicians led the pack. I told you that you should be concerned with what goes on here.

Guess what? Nancy Pelosi is about to become one of the most influential leaders of your country. That's right, Nancy Pelosi from CA.

The sad thing is there isn't much the Feds can do to make us in California in any worse shape. Welcome to our world. A world not so long ago where some of you thought you were higher and mightier than us.

It is absolutely petty and wrong for me to shove this in your face, but I would be lying if I didn't say it brings me some slight satisfaction.

Ok, now that that is over, I am ready to get back to work. We have actually been turning some things around in our state. The NRA has actually been closely working with us on the AR15 issue. The next two months are going to be interesting for us. I am ready for the challenge. Hopefully we can all get together and work as a team now that you free Americans have been humbled a bit.
