dented .233 brass from ar15

I'm fortunate enough to get free .223 brass if I pick it up from the range. After washing in soapy water to clean off all the mudd, I have noticed a dent in the middle of the casing on several cases. The dents are from minor to moderate I guess and I was wondering if it is still safe to reload. I guess it is caused by the brass deflectors on the ar's, not for sure though. I would say that about 150 out of the 500 has this dent. What you think? I will be reloading to shoot in another AR.

They shouldn't hurt anything, depending on the severity. They will most likely disappear when you resize or fire them.

The dents you mentioned are usually from the case hitting the brass deflector on ejection. They are usually minor and will not cause problems. They will usually blow out on the next firing but your AR rifle may dent the case again, assuming you shoot them in an AR.

The dent could be from an H&K 93. The ejector puts a good dent just below the neck of the casing. Most times this dent is permanent and does not cause a problem for reloading, but I’ll only fire them twice before scraping them.

My AR does this as well, I have a DSA ZM4 and every round I fire ends up with this dent in the middle of the case. Neither of my dads AR's do this and I was told it had to do with the buffer spring but I don't care enough to fix it because the brass reloads just fine.
