I bought a bunch of these. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=799452&t=11082005

I had been using Zorb-It products before, but just wasn't sure if I could trust them.

Anyways, take a look:

That's the back and the photo on Midway.

I found the same product on another site showing the window:

It says on the instructions that the window should show the beads as blue when dry and pink when wet.

I bought 6. All of them have beads that look black from what I can see. Are they no-good? Or could that just be the way they come when you first open the bag?

I'm not sure but if it is black it may have been taken to too high a temperature and turned black like most stuff does. If they are brand new, you could steam one for a bit and see what happens. They can always be dried out and reused. It should be blue or pink as you know. Can you open the can? If so you may be able to just change the desiccant.

Here is a link to one supplier of those type cans and bulk desiccant but there are quite a few others.

Yours may need to be recharged. Just pop them in the oven at 300 for an hour or so to be sure. And/or keep them in the bathroom during hot showers to see if the colors change. If they stay black under moisture or the oven, send them back.

All 6 of them are like this straight out of the brand new packaging.

I put on on my desk and will keep an eye on it to see what happens.

When we were preparing silica gel packs for insertion into military radios, we found things went better if we used about 250*F and left them in a little longer.

If they are black, I'd shower with them in the room and see how they react. If they don't change after a couple of showers, send them back.
