Where would one find information/books/instructions on how to detail strip certain firearms?

More specifically how/where can I find out how to detail strip my Ruger P85. Before I purchased it, it was packed up in an attic for 10 years and I would love to be able to strip it completely and clean/relube everything. Plus I love taking things apart and putting them back together, and I am infact quite good at it even without instructions....however I figure this is one of those "do it right or don't do it at all" cases :p

Bumpity

Shameless bump...

So noone can tell me where I can go to find reading/information on how to detail strip specific firearms? Ruger P-Series firearms in particular?

Try the Gun Digest series of books on Firearms Assembly/Disassembly. There are different volumes for different types of firearms, e.g. centerfire rifle, rimfire rifle.

Thanks, after doing a little looking into it, it appears this is exactly what I was looking for. Will be getting the one on centerfire autoloading pistols first and then following up with rimfire.

I have a 3 part video on youtube for detailed stripping of the 1911. Goes right down to the frame leaving only the ejector and plunger tube left, I don't think you'd want to take those out frequently for cleaning anyways, its not necessary.

If your interested PM me, I will send you the links.
