I've mentioned building a hobby tacticool gun. I'm going to put a laser on. I've never done this, I was wondering what the best way to do this is? I suppose I could just throw one on and get a close-enough deal, but I'd like to, if possible, have it center-bore aligned. How would/could I do this? Do they make laser boresights for shotguns?

Best you can do is parallel-bore aligned.

Just ("just," he says) zero it like any other laser. Mount the laser securely- VERY securely, or it'll 'walk' with recoil. Put up a big target reasonably close in, hold the laser on a particular aiming point, and squeeze off a shot. Adjust and repeat until dot and rathole coincide reasonably closely.

Do yourself a favor- make your PGO a 20 gauge and shoot light loads to zero...

Lasers don't tend to work as well as one would think on a shotgun. The projectile fired makes them a *really iffy* kind of thing. Close in, it's somewhat workable, but shot patterns, at ranges where they can be called "patterns", can't really be predicted with any accuracy out of a smooth barrel. You'd best be served with a zeroed flashlight.
