Did 1100's go up in value or are these guys crazy?

So I like the older Remington 1100's. Especially the magnum version but I like them all really. Anyway, it seems like 6 months ago I was seeing them from anywhere for $350-500 pretty often. Cheaper if they were in bad shape. Well, in the last few weeks I saw one for $600, a magnum version listed for $900, and today I see a 2 3/4" version listed for $750. Are these guys crazy or did the 1100's go up in value for some reason in the last few months? While I like them I don't think they are near a $900 gun.

I hadn't noticed that, but I haven't been looking much really. The Sporting, Premier Sporting, and G3 models are definitely up there, but plain old run of the mill used 1100s are still going from $300 to maybe $500 depending on particulars as far as I can tell.

+1 unless its a trap or skeet model we can still have them around here for 4-5 bills.

Guy at the club just bought a 11-87 for 650.00, sporting model. Deals are out there, you just have to be patient to find them.

I stumbled on a 10yr. old 11-87 "sporting clays" with the nickle reciever for 450.00 last yr. The gun looked like it had hardly been used at all. If it weren't for this one popping up close to home I would have bought a 391.

Deals are out there, you just have to keep your eyes open for them.

With Benellis and Berettas going for over $1500-$1800, Remington's pricing is now over $1,000 and more. That makes the values of used ones rise as well. Deals ARE out there, but you have to be patient and do the research. If you're looking for used, I would try your local gun club - if no notices on the bulletin board, put one up asking to buy - you might get lucky

1100s are available here for a few hundred bucks, last I checked.

However, there have been special models made, over the years, with fancy wood, engraving, etc., that would fall into a different price category.
