Today I went to a pawn shop looking at the guns and I saw a Savage Model 110 30-06 in a wooden stock for $279 it looked nice so i bought it...

came with a bushnell sporter 4x12 scope with adjustable parralax it seems like

It is one of the older ones with out the accutrigger the barrel looks clean and the stock is a lil beat up but not bad at all (they already took the hassle of worrying if it will get beat up for me)

Does it sound like a decent rifle?

Give it a good cleaning and take it to the range. If you can work up to a 2" at 100yds it will be good for hunting. Then you made a good deal in my book.

good score.

clean 'er up good, and have fun while keeping in mind the scope may not be any good.

great deal w/ no scope, fantastic deal w/ a working, serviceable scope.

i just took it to 3 of my local gun shops they all said it looks AMAZING in the barrel and that i shouldnt have any issues with it. Im really happy with it so far

anyone have any experience with the older savage rifles?

i've got a couple... what do you want to know about them?

the old 110's all long action, and the wood stocked versions seem to amplify recoil. other than that, serviceable rifle...
