Heya. Just got back from the range, and took my mom and sister along as well. we had a blast :) Anyways, my mom is a new shooter, but she's had a thing for Glocks ever since she fired the range's Glock 17 last time we were there, so today, as I was shooting, and teaching my 15 yo sister to shoot my 1911 (she did good btw, even though it's a .45) my mom was hanging out in the front of the store, looking at the guns, and when I went back out I saw her with a Glock 23 in her hand, and I knew what was coming :)

I walked up to her, and finished convincing her to buy the Glock. Actually, I tried to get her to buy the Sig (since I happen to like Sigs better) but she was already sld on the Glock, so I just said go for it. Here's the sweet thing though, the Glock 23 she bought, came with one of those Glock lights, and 2 brand new high cap magazines. So basically, she got a Glock 23, 2 mags, and the Glock weapon mounted flashlight for $625 (plus state tax, was like $670 total, with all fees). Overall, I think she got a pretty good deal on that. We pick it up on Thursday, but she's really happy wth it.

I like to pinch pennies and stuff (and I'm still a little bit sore at the fact that the same store charged me $500 for a Rock Island 1911 that should be in the $350 to $400 range), but overally, I'll be honest and say that I think she got an excellent deal. Am I right? Was it a good buy? Oh, and this will probably be her CCW gun soon, so the Glock 23 is great for that too right? Just wondering what you all thought about that.

Also, as a side note, what's a good place online to buy cheap .40 S&W and .45 ACP ammo. Things are a bit expensive around here (I paid $22 for a 100rd pack of .45 at walmart, which me and my sister burned through in like 45 minutes, and .40 S&W isn't much cheaper). I was wondering if there were any online places that offered a good deal for bulk buys (like 250 rounds or more)

Yeah, that's a good deal...as the 23 goes, I really like that mid-sized Glock. They point, shoot & conceal very well. Enjoy!

PS - my mom just used a rolled up newspaper to get me in line, beware the mom w/ a Glock! :neener:
