I just talked to my mom on the phone and she is looking to buy a Glock. She went to a gun shop and they had n.i.b glocks that came with a mounted laser. The clerk said that they are supplied from Glock that way and she wanted to know if she should buy one with the laser.

Anyways I was not aware of Glock supplying lasers on their pistols so I told her that I would check on it. I wanted to make sure that Glock does supply some guns with lasers and that it is not some cheap knock off that the store is overcharging for.

I haven't seen a factory offered laser package in my area. There are Glock brand light/laser rail mount setups and I think they are under $250. I have a laser that replaces the guide rod that I like and it retails for just over $300.
Crimson Trace also has Glock lasers under $300.
How much do they want extra for the package?

The regular price is $519 and with the attached laser it was $675. Some how my mom talked the guy down to $600 and that raised a flag.

I wish I knew more about the set up but I do not. But when she said the guy was willing to knock off $75 I got the feeling that it is probably a piece of crap laser.

I told her just to buy the plain pistol because a good laser is going to run quite a bit more than 80 bucks.

Call the shop and ask what it is. You don't have to say "Hey, I'm asking for my Mom to protect her..." but you can honestly say, "Hey, someone told me you had a good deal on Glock's with lasers; what's the scoop?"

Since that price is right around retail right now, I also agree something doesn't sound entirely kosher.

I can't remember what forum I read it on but a guy posted that he bought that set-up and the laser was crap. Wish I could tell you more but I can't remember where I saw it.

Never heard of Glocks coming from the factory with ANYTHING mounted on them, though they do make both a light and a light/laser combo. If it is the Glock accessory, I'd say go for it. If it is just a laser, not Glock made or another reputable manufacturer, I would go with the plain pistol.
