It's not a problem. The "drain" from digital switches is measured in micro amps (µA) - that's millionths of an amp. I don't know the exact current drain on the DSF, but medium price Chinese made lights with digital switches only drain 50 to 150 µA. So, even if the DSF drains 100 µA that's 100 x 0.000001 Amps or 0.000100 amps. If you change your batteries annually like you should you'll never know the difference.
