To my untrained eyes it seems to be about $230, but theres gotta be something about the 6920 that makes it "better" correct? I don't want to go overly cheap on an AR because I think that defeats the purpose, but I am a person that must justify every extra cent I spend on my big purchases.

I had both the 6920 is.made by colt. The 6900 has no sights no foward assist no dust cover and no chrome lined bore, plus its not made with colt parts or by colt. Both guns functioune flawlessly, and the finish is nicer on the 6900. The 6920 is a better all around gun though.

The 6900 is about on par with a DPMS and frankly, Colt should not have even put their name on it. Totally inferior to the 6920, except price.

As mentioned, the 6900 is not a Colt. I wouldn't even consider it, as there are better rifles from BCM, PSA, and Spikes in the same price range.

Goodluck finding a complete BCM carbine let alone under $1000

Apparently, the 6900 has already been discontinued and when remaining stocks are gone, that's it.

Brent at Colt said that it had nothing to do with quality issues, but wouldn't say why.
