Digital Camera help needed

Well its time for a new camera,I'd like one that is easy to use.That has controls on the outside of the camera to operate it.I don't want one that is operated by clicking solely on menus.
So what do you reccomend?

Www.Kenrockwell.com is a great site for camera beginners. Too much off topic discussion needed to help you here. It really depends on your needs and what you want out of the camera.

All smartphones made now come with user friendly cameras that will not require much or any messing with settings.

Ken Rockwell has a great sight indeed. OP you didn't say what kind of camera ie. point and shoot or SLR type. A budget would be helpful also.
