OK, so I finally tweaked a dillon 1" wrench, and decided to buy a craftsman 1" combo wrench. So I removed the toolhead with 38 spec plates, and replaced with my 9mm. Low and behold the 1" wrench doesn't fit the lock rings on this toolhead/lock rings 9mm dies. They are larger (I have not reloaded 9mm in ages). :banghead:

OK, so question what is the standard outside diameter lock rings that dillon uses? I used to have a bunch of RCBS dies, perhaps these are from the RCBS dies or maybe dillon changed?

Anyway, I kind of like the larger rings, they measure about 1.14" outside diameter.

The 1 inch nuts are newer dillon parts they allow more clearance to tighten down dies in the tool heads, dillon sells them to update all your tool heads

If you tweaked the Dillon wrench, you are way over-tightening the nuts.

1-1/8" most likely. Go to Sears and get another wrench.

If you put the nuts on the bottom, you can also use a socket. A deep enough socket may work on the top (haven't tried that yet hmm).
