Good evening folks...
I will be picking up my RIA 1911 5" .45 w/ some minor tweeks on Monday.
Prior to shooting it, I would presume it's a good idea to take it apart, clean it and then go on to shoot it...correct? Herein lies the dilema for me... this is my first handgun and I am at a loss as to the proper procedures to disassemble the gun, and moreso, how to go about cleaning, oiling, ... properly. Are cleaning kits available out there? If so, where and what brand or type of cleaning kit should I be looking for?
Any and all info/advice/help would be greatly appreciated
TIA
