Was just on a video conference with a married-couple who I've been friends with since high school. They live out of town (we hang out once a month online just to keep up our friendship until they move back locally...the husband is in naturopathic med-school...alternative medacine, etc). I just happened to be sitting next to my reloading setup at the time. My friend's wife (has been shooting a few times, generally seems pro-rkba), started asking me about reloading, so I broke out the Lee Loader, and demonstrated how to reload a .38spl for them over the camera. They seemed to get a real kick out of it. Learned a lot. Despite having been around guns a lot, and shooting once in a while herself, she said "I've never thought about how a bullet works before" or something like that. Made my evening.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I sure have! My nephew was telling his wifes cousin about my reloading room. He said he was VERY interested in seeing it. He was an avid shooter, but bought all his shells. They came out, he watched me load one .280 shell. His eyes got wide open, I said sit down you can do it! He did, and within a week he had a used Pacific loader and dies for his .308! He's as sharp as a tack, picks stuff up real quick.

It's a real pleasure to pass this hobby on to the next generation.

I too have passed this hobby to many, but not like that. It was definately an intereresting way to show someone how it's done. The world is really getting flat as a result of digital information. It was a good way to use modern technology to pass along a ancient practice. Very ironic, but yet makes perfect sense. Your friends may also be insterested in loggin on to Lee's website who has various demonstration videos with different presses.

I don't know about imparting an ancient skill, as I've only been reloading for like 2 months. Still, all involved are in early 30's or late 20's here, so we'll be doing it for a good, long time, legalities allowing.
