I am wondering if any of us read the enemy's books or articles. At a used bookstore, I bought a proof copy of "Arming America" and a book by Pete Shields, called "Guns don't die, People do." I haven't read them, yet, and I don't know if I can make it through them without serious heart trouble.

Can anyone tell me about a book called "Gun Control: A written record..." by Robert J. Kukla?

Don't forget the one that started it all: "The Saturday Night Special" Robert Sherill (1968) (don't you love how the antis pick right up on the racist lingo). Nasty yellow cover, bleh, and the cover was the best part of the book.

In a former life, in a time far away and is now another planet, I used to read the enemy. I always felt that when I did that I gained an understanding into how they thought, their priorities, their fears, inter alia.

When you read the domestic enemy, you will disover a lot when you do. The panic, the illogic, hysteria and ignorance will smack you into understanding. You will discover the best counter is education.:)

It's always smart to read what your opponents have to say. However, I try to get the books at the local library so they don't profit from me.

Alot of the Anti's rhetoric is based on emotion and fear of the unknown. They watch much to much TV.

I've gotten into the habit of listening to "Air America" during my drive to and from work. Randi Rhoads is usually on while I'm in the car, and she cracks me up, to be honest. How someone could try to come off as so informed and intelligent and then be THAT wrong on almost every single issue is pretty amusing.

Very good. Plus, as an added benefit...while you're studying the enemy, the book is unavailable. How...sad.

Mike ;)

I lurk a bit on Democratic Underground, mostly to understand their logic and rationale supporting their opinions. Funny, on the whole there isn't any...

I've read Hillary's Living History (aka "Rewriting History") , Bill's My Life (aka "My Lies") and Sidney Blumenthal's The Clinton Wars (aka "Once upon a time...").

Do they count as enemies? :)

a copy of Arming America that my local library was going to throw out.
Thank God! I got these two books from a used bookstore, so I don't think any of my money flowing into Bellesiles' pockets. But he might need it, poor dear; I hear he was let go.

Hkmp5sd, you must take a lot of Vitamin B. I'm sure I would tear those books in half after the first few pages. But if you've got the time to read those stinkers, you must have no job and no worries. Got a trust fund, or something?

I lurk there as well. Them people (?) are nutz. I don't understand them at all. AND I don't understand their hatred of America.
